Our Club
Karate Academy Scotland is a local club with a long history in Elgin – the club started over 25 years ago. Sensei John Craig is a 5th Dan with more than 30 years of karate experience. He took over the running of the club in 2006.
Karate Academy Scotland is open to people of all ages. We take students aged from 7 and upwards training at all levels.
Shotokan Karate is a traditional martial art. It offers everyone a path of personal growth and development. Through training, students challenge themselves both mentally and physically in an effort to master technique and the application of those techniques. Training requires commitment to the art and to yourself. Through partner work it encourages students to work together. Over time, continued training helps students develop an inner strength of character that flows through every aspect of their life. Karate Academy Scotland follows the teachings of Sensei Kase and Sensei Shirai and is a member of both associations. We hold courses twice a year with Sensei Marc Stevens and regularly attend training courses in Europe.
